Walker's Bio
Born and raised in Fernandina Beach, FL; a town with a population of approximately 13,000. Walker has always loved to sing and dance. She would dance with her father to Frank Sinatra songs, and also would dress up as Disney characters and pretend to have her own meet and greets with family members. Her musical theatre journey, publicly, began the summer before college with her first voice lesson and the teacher cried. Until then she was very timid in revealing her love for singing, i.e. she would perform solos in her home any time she was home alone. In college she decided to take a leap of faith and study theatre with no experience outside her home alone performances. Walker attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. She was apart of five main stage productions (The Women, All Shook Up, The Wolves, ect.), also four cabarets, three years of chorale, and received the EMMA Concert Vocal Scholarship award and Irene Ryan Acting Nomination for her role as Mary Haines in The Women by Clair Booth Luce.
Post college Walker went on to work her first professional dream contract for Disney Cruise Line aboard the Disney Magic as a main stage vocalist in roles like Anastasia Tremaine, Blue Fairy, Ariel, Elsa, Belle, and more.
Walker continues to dream of continuing to work professionally in this field that has brought her out of her shell and allowed her to build a new found self-confidence in her craft. She hopes to inspire others to take that leap of faith even if you are the only one who believes you can do it.
Walker's Personal Statement:
I hope to encourage and lift others who feel the same way I felt when beginning this process; alone. I grew up believing and convincing myself that nobody would want to hear my voice; that I was too quiet, too timid, too self conscious.
I want to be a theatre artist in a community of accepting and collaborative people who share the commonality of wanting to experience the process and growth as individuals. I want to be an artist who advocates for safe spaces and dual performance personalities; that being an introverted person is not a weakness.
